About S. C. Lomax

I am a 23-year-old true crime writer. A former student of the University of Sheffield, where I graduated with a degree in Archaeology and Prehistory in July 2004, I have been writing since the age of eight. My earliest work was written for personal interest but later I began to submit articles for publication in magazines, a number of which were printed. Whilst at university I wrote for both my university student news website and a national student website. I have recently had articles printed in local newspapers. Additionally I have had articles relating to true crime placed on several websites. Many of my articles can be viewed by visiting the 'Published Articles' page of this website. Much of my work has concerned cases of suspected miscarriages of justice, although I write about crime in general. I have campaigned for a number of individuals. Two of these (Graham Huckerby and James Power) had their convictions quashed by the Court of Appeal in December 2004.

At the age of 21 I had my debut book, The Case of Barry George, published. This book has since been updated to form Who Killed Jill Dando?. The book discusses the murder of Jill Dando, the investigation into the murder and the subsequent controversial conviction of Barry George. It was the first piece of writing to document all of the evidence, expose the weaknesses in the prosecution’s argument and appraise the prosecution’s case in light of evidence which was not heard in court. Several articles relating to the book appeared in national newspapers both in Britain and Ireland.

My second book, about another high profile criminal case, is currently unpublished. I am involved in several projects and intend to write another book by the end of 2005. I am researching and writing a book about unsolved murders in my home county.
