Introduction
SCIP promotes and develops ways in which new information and communication technologies (ICT) can benefit local communities, ultimately by 'supporting the people who support the people'.
As a not-for-profit organisation we aim to help prevent the creation of a two-tier society in which the needs of the information-rich take priority over those of the information-poor.
To achieve this we work within exisiting local community networks, helping people to realize the full potential of opportunities created by new technology such as the Internet. The key to this is an inclusive approach that empowers people to see ICT as an opportunity rather than as a technological mystery.
