Description
This website originated on December 13, 2000 out of concern for the many animals that are neglected, abandoned, or stray and eventually find themselves in the local Lee County Pound. Lee County is in the southwestern tip of Virginia with the nearest city of any size being Kingsport, Tennessee. It is a rural area with a small pound that serves the entire county.
The first two dogs were rescued from being gassed at Lee County Pound on December 14, 2000. Those dogs were "Smoky" and "Sugar". Both of them have been adopted into loving caring homes. You can read about them (and others) from the link on the main page.
By forming "Save Just One", the hopes were to recruit more local volunteers to help. The greatest need is for people to "foster" the dogs until adoptive homes can be found.
