- Our parent company, Halas and Phos, began in late 2005. We first opened our webstore Halas and Phos Christian Apparel, Gifts and More at that time. The Greek words "Halas" and "Phos" mean "Salt" and "Light". We got the name for our business and our Web Site from Matthew 5:13-16 which talks about being a witness to the world around us. We started out selling Kerusso® apparel and gifts which are among the finest quality Christian products on the market today. Kerusso® is the Greek word for "Proclaim". So together with Kerusso® our mission has been to be Salt and Light to our community and to proclaim the Good News of the Gospel to the world. Salt & Light Christian Mall, through our parent company Halas and Phos, supports our local church - Grace Church, Normal, Illinois - and Missions around the world with a portion of the proceeds from every sale.
