Description
Ultimate Frisbee of Saigon (UFOS) was founded in 2004 by a group of former Hanoi Ultimate Club (HUC) players, whose passion for the game followed them to Ho Chi Minh City. After spreading word around town via posters and flyers, UFOS founders recruited more than 30 enthusiasts to attend the UFOS' first pick-up game on June 27, 2004 on a muddy field by the Saigon River.
Since then, the club has grown to include more than 50 members and has a regular venue on the lush new fields of RMIT Vietnam's campus in South Saigon. Practices and pick-up games are held at the RMIT fields every Sunday from 3:30 - 5:30pm.
March 2005 - After a brief stint of homelessness, UFOS secured an attractive (although temporary) new field at the Phu Tho Race Track. Some considered 8:00am to be a bit early, but opinion polls clearly showed that Saturday morning practices were "more fun than you can shake a stick at."
