Padinjarekara Rubber Industries, a partnership, set up in 1969, evolved into Padinjarekara Rubber and Plastics (P) Ltd. as a part of the Padinjarekara Group of businesses. The group is owned and controlled by the Padinjarekara family. The Padinjarekara Group is into various activities, many of them in the field of rubber products, making everything from Centrifuged Latex to Rubber Footwear, as well as Rubber printing rollers and rubber suspensions for construction.

Padinjarekara Rubber and Plastics (P) Ltd, manufactures rubber flip flops, popularly called Hawai Slippers which we widely market under the name of Prima. We also provide custom sheets with the customer’s individual requirements. With a dedicated workforce of 70 people, we produce around 75,000 pairs a month on an average. All our factory processes ensure 0% wastage, and all the by-products are fully recyclable. We do much of our own recycling and the rest is recycled by alternate rubber industries in Kerala.

We have now introduced a new International Line, called “Soul Comforts”, with attractive colors and soft to the touch, making it arguably the most comfortable footwear available. Styled by our designer whose NIFT background gives her an insight into fashion trends, the new line is designed to be both contemporary and classic. We plan to update the new line seasonally and in keeping with fashion trends. This product, like the rest of our slippers, is fully biodegradable as confirmed by the Rubber Board of India, and is fully recyclable. To encourage people to recycle, the company is planning to offer a buy back on worn out Soul Comforts, so that we can recycle it.
