As Chairman of the Board of Directors of RTA, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the Riverside Transit Agency (RTA). RTA is responsible for providing efficient and effective transit service that is available to all citizens in western Riverside County. Without an efficient transportation system, moving people from home to work, school, shopping, and recreation would be a difficult task. RTA continues to make great strides in fulfilling the transit needs of all residents in western Riverside County. While continuing to maintain and operate fixed route and ADA Dial-A-Ride services, RTA is now focusing on the regional transit needs for the future, and planning how to meet those needs.
Meanwhile, our customers have overwhelmingly demonstrated their preference by using our service in rapidly increasing numbers. The future for RTA bus service is even brighter with plans to increase bus service, adding new local and regional commuter routes, and development of a Bus Rapid Transit project–all while keeping fares affordable. The region's booming housing projects, increasing roadway congestion, RTA’s increased commitment to customer service, coupled with the attractiveness of RTA services, all contribute to significant increases in transit ridership.
With a new, advanced fleet of comfortable, low-emission buses, RTA’s commitment to the customers’ needs on the bus, at stops, transit centers, and major transfer points continues to be top priority.
