Hi! As a big fan of rock and roll, I became tired of arguing with people about whether “rock and roll was dead” (it isn’t) or whether such and such a band was considered “garage” or “punk” or “psychedelic” or whatever “Nu” genre you could think up so I started The Rock and Roll Report as a direct response. If you thought rock and roll was limited to your Clear Channel authorized “modern rock” radio station or MTV/Much Music then man ‘o man do I have some great news for you! There are literally hundreds of extremely cool rock and roll radio stations broadcasting right now from all over the planet that you can listen to that will knock your rock and roll socks off. There are dozens and dozens of sinfully great record labels pumping out amazing rock and roll sounds from yesterday and today that are just crying out for you to take a listen to. And Zines? There are all kinds of print ‘zines and web ‘zines covering the eclectic, the crazy and the most absolutely wonderful feel good rock and roll that will take you years and years to read and enjoy. Finally, there are the bands. That’s right, you don’t have to dream that you are in some rock and roll fantasy circa 1966 because there are hundreds of very cool rock and roll bands playing out there right now that you can actually go see live! That’s right! They might be playing at a club near you right now and you may not be the wiser. Whether you live in Montreal or Milan, Bangkok or Boston, rock and roll is alive and doing quite well thank you very much, and all of these people that keep the true spirit of rock and roll alive are waiting for you to join them in the fun. Don’t settle for the dreary, the bland, the synthesized drone of whatever crap that is being foisted on you right now. Join me and a growing list of writers as we scour the globe in search of the loud, the cool and the fun that is real rock and roll. Who knows, perhaps you may be inspired to create just a little bit of rock and roll madness of your own! So thanks for reading, now get outta here and join in this rock and roll adventure.
