RBR Publishing Company (dba RoadBikeRider.com) is a Pennsylvania-based corporation founded in 2001. The chief poobah is Ed Pavelka, a 30-year veteran of cycling journalism. He has served as editor of VeloNews, executive editor of Bicycling and produced more than three-dozen cycling books. His road cycling career dates to 1972 and emphasizes long-distance events.
Until retiring from daily duties in 2005, longtime cycling writer and coach Fred Matheny was RBR's vice president and primary content provider. Lots of his writing remains on the free site and Premium Site . The RBR eBookstore carries his "how to" eBooks for road cycling improvement. Fred continues writing articles, columns and product reviews for RBR.
Other bylines on the site include bike shop owner/mechanic Alan "Uncle Al" Ardizone. Former pro mechanic Jim Langley appears on the Premium Site.
