Rivals is an energetic rock/hardcore/punk band based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Formed in the small town of Gilroy, CA in early 2001, the band has become known for its intense live show, dedicated fan base and down-to-earth personality. Rivals has released four recordings, toured the west coast and signed with Chris Roberts Management (Chophouse Records/Jason Newsted/Eric Kretz).
Rivals are proud of their working-class, non-elitist attitude, and feel just as comfortable playing living rooms and garages as they do venues like the Hard Rock Cafe and Hollywood's famous Viper Room. To the band, there is nothing more important that making friends through music and sharing one's honest beliefs.
Rivals are also firm believers in activism and have rocked for many causes including Cancer research, Toys for Tots, voter registration and fund raisers to save local venues.
