REVIEW OF RICE DIET PROGRAM
The Rice Diet Program, based in Durham, North Carolina has been in existence since 1939. It is billed as a lifestyle clinic that provides a safe and supportive setting to make drastic changes in your life. The Rice Diet program has focused on the prevention of hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, obesity, and other diseases. The purpose of this review, however, is to determine the likely merits of the obesity portion of the program. To take part in the program the participant must travel to program’s headquarters in Durham, North Carolina. Most patients stay for four to eight weeks where they receive meals, classes, workshops, and medical supervision. It is billed as a total lifestyle change, not just a weight loss supplement.

REVIEW OF Rice Diet Program
The Rice Diet program says that patients can expect to lose between ½ to 1 pound per day; depending on the amount of exercise they are capable of performing. The program, however, believes a truer measure of success is how much the patient weighs a year later, not when you leave the facility. The participants stay local at hotels in the area and spend the days at the Rice Program facility. The day’s activities start at 7:30 am with a medical check in and conclude at 7:30 pm. The day’s activities include meals, exercise, medical lectures, and workshops.
