With 30 years experience in handwriting analysis, Jeanette Farmer is one of only a few handwriting remediation specialists in this country. Her rarefied expertise in viewing handwriting from a brain dominance perspective is grounded in 30 years of research of the late German neurologist/ graphologist, Dr. Rudolph Pophal. In studying how the brain's various motor centers impact the movement style, he identified which brain areas had the greatest impact on the movement style. She's spent the last 16 years searching through current brain research to find those that are particularly pertinent to the handwriting process to align it to Pophal's work.
She lectures nationally and internationally to "educate the educators" about handwriting's role as the critical missing piece of the educational puzzle, explaining why the educational world fails to understand handwriting's deeper implications and the educational consequences that result from its neglect. Her program of movement exercises and therapeutic music, Train the Brain to Pay Attention The Write Way, Vol. I, Vol II and Vol. IIl, is now used by parents and in several thousand classrooms, both regular and special education, across this country and in many foreign countries too.
The Train the Brain to Pay Attention the Write Way program consists of an age-appropriate workbook of handwriting movement exercises, a CD of music and a plastic template.
