- Also called a “link server”, a link resolver is a software agent that takes incoming bibliographic links from any source (usually over the Internet), determines whether a given library holds any print or electronic copy of the item described in the link and, if so, connects the user seamlessly to the "appropriate copy" of the resource. Simply stated, the appropriate copy is the copy of the resource to which the library has access. The goal is to provide an easy, universal, and vendor-independent way for you to manage and link together all your library resources, allowing your users and patrons to quickly find what they want.
