- I made my first two bears seven years ago for my nieces when their father passed unexpectedly. I wanted to find a way for them to have something of their father's to hold, so I took some of his favorite flannel shirts and made two bears. The girls loved them, the word spread, and now I think I've made a Bear from just about everything you could think of. From T-shirts to dress shirts, coats, robes, blankets, furs, pajamas.....you name it.
