Description
The road to becoming an atheist is often a personal, solitary search for truth. In pondering the religious question of where we have come from, many have found answers that are in contrast to accepted norms.In ages past, people have been persecuted for finding their own truth. We can not let this continue. It is estimated that 6% of the American people are atheistic. Although a minority, this quiet group of thoughtful people have made noteworthy contributions to our society. There are many loosely affliated organizations that have arisen to meet the needs of atheists and people of similar beliefs. The Red River Freethinkers are one of the most recent additions to these growing organizations. It was formed in July 1997 in the Red River Valley area of Fargo, North Dakota and Moorhead, Minnesota. We are a group of people skeptical of religious dogma advocating intellectual freedom and the use of reason.
