Gaiam, a popular yoga store has partnered with The Conservation Fund. to plant trees in the Lower Mississippi River Valley. So far, they have already planted one of these “Gaiam Groves” in an area that has lost more than 20 million acres of bottomland hardwood forests in the last 100 years due to deforestation. The Conservation Fund / Gaiam partnership only plants native trees, those species that are indigenous to the Mississippi River Valley area, including species of cypress and oak.
