Beverly Hills Radiation Oncology (BHRO) is a user-friendly radiation therapy facility providing state-of-the-art radiation treatment in a convenient office setting. We are located in the center of the Los Angeles metropolitan area near the corner of Wilshire and Robertson Boulevards, a few blocks from one of the largest and most sophisticated medical centers in the world. We are a radiation oncologist-owned facility dedicated to quality cancer care.
Clifford J. Merlo, M.D. and David J. Rickles, M.D. opened the BHRO facility in 1990. They are both Board-certified radiation oncologists with special interest and extensive experience in prostate implants. Dr. Merlo trained in radiation oncology at Stanford University and was an Associate Radiation Oncologist at Cedars-Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Center before joining BHRO. Dr. Rickles trained at UCLA Cancer Center where has has served as Clinical Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology.
John Thropay, M.D. is a Board-certified radiation oncologist with special expertise and experience in intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT). Dr. Thropay developed the first IMRT treatment system in Los Angeles at his Beverly Oncology facility where he has successfully treated over 150 prostate cancer patients using IMRT. This is one of the largest experiences in the country with this revolutionary new radiation treatment modality. Dr. Thropay has recently relocated his mid-Wilshire office, and joined Dr. Rickles and Dr. Merlo, to bring the precision capability of IMRT to Beverly Hills Radiation Oncology.
