Description
Let me start out by saying I have been in love with quilts for over 25 years from the time my grandmother gave me a very special gift that had been given to her, a beautiful quilt (to view the quilt click here). I didn’t actually start quilting until a few years later but would always admire the time and patience involved in making that quilt. I had worked at an Engineering/Design Firm and later worked at an Advertising Agency in N.Y. Both of these jobs allowed me to use my creativity to some extent, which is something I loved. Then one day my life changed drastically, I found out I was going to be a Mom. Well, I left that high-pressured, fast-paced job and moved to Florida. I had some free time on my hands, the baby wasn’t due for a few months so I finally had the time to actually sit down and learn to quilt. I got a few books and started making a baby quilt. I was hooked.
A few years later I found a job at a quilt shop and stayed there for over 5 years. The last year and a half I worked on the Gammill Quilting Machine quilting quilts for customers. While there I quilted more tops than I can count. Each quilt had it’s own story, some touching, some funny, each one unique. Watching all the quilts come to life is a real treat for me. I truly enjoy quilting each top and seeing each one finished is great. I have quilted quilts for people from Alaska to New Zealand, California, to one of my favorites on Martha’s Vineyard. I can also understand the time spent picking out just the right fabrics as well as the expense involved.
I know what fun piecing the tops can be but finishing those quilts can be hard, never mind all of those new projects you want to make. I want to let you know that if you need help finishing up those projects, I’m always here to help. Know that when your quilt is with me I will care for it as if it were my own.
