The Quest - a New Kind of Church

A lot of people ask, "What is The Quest? Is it a church? Why is it called 'The Quest' and not 'St. Matthew's,' or 'New Hope Community Church' or something like that?" Those are fair questions and, depending on your definition of "church," The Quest may or may not be one.
If your definition includes things like long drawn out services that don't seem to make a lot of sense, or cryptic spiritual formulas that seem simplistic, or narrow minded views on almost anything you can think of, then The Quest is not a church. On the other hand, if your definition of church includes a community of people helping one another along a spiritual journey, learning to be people of faith who are known by love and who become voices of hope, then we are a church.
It doesn't really matter to us how we are classified. What section of the Yellow Pages we find ourselves in is not really important. We are here to invite people to discover Jesus and grow with us to be like Him. Along the way, we would very much like to express God's goodness to our community and our world. That is what fuels everything that we hope to do.
