About Us
Quest for a Cure is a registered not for profit organization raising funds and awareness for cancer treatment in the National Capital Region.
In the spring of 2000, Ottawa firefighter and adventure racer Jim Andrews was diagnosed with cancer. Following his surgery Jim was referred to the Ottawa Hospital Regional Cancer Centre for care. Since then, a close friend, adventure racing team-mate and fellow firefighter, Mark Johnston, has also been diagnosed with cancer. It was from their shared experience that the Quest for a Cure was born.
Our goal… to promote high quality adventure/sport fundraising events that challenge competitors both physically and mentally, while increasing awareness of cancer care in our community.
