In the late 1990's Jim White and Barry Martin, friends since school days in the '60s, came together to form the Purewine Company. Having searched for Organic wine and having found only a small selection, the logical conclusion was to negotiate directly with the vineyards and import for their own drinking pleasure. But, as with Pandora's box, once the lid was taken off the box and others heard of their ability to buy quality Organics at sensible prices, the demand rapidly outstripped their own supplies. Thus the Purewine Company was formed, specifically to search out those quality wines that were not yet available, at sensible prices and to offer them to the public at large.
The Purewine Company now supplies to the retail trade by mail order, telephone and fax sales as well as to the trade in Restaurants, Off Licences and Supermarkets. Jim and Barry are sure that if you browse through the vast selection of wines available, many of which are Vegetarian and Vegan suitable, you will find a selection that is unavailable in both quality and price from any other supplier.
