The non-profit NC Green Power organization is the outcome of cooperation among electric utilities, environmentalists, state regulators and energy generators. Program is subjected to tax deduction by the government. Customers who want to participate can register in one of the following two programs: NC Green Power that allows residential and minute business clients to give $4 per month for a 100-kilowatt-hour block of green power. The $4 per block monthly fee is added to the customer's regular electric bill. NC Renewable Energy users contribute $2.50 per month for a 100-kilowatt-hour block of green power. These customers make a minimum commitment of 100 blocks (10,000 kWh) per month for one year.
