- Originally from Florida, John moved to Honolulu in 1974. He worked as an artist for the advertising industry until 1987 when he decided to pursue a cartooning career. In 1988, John was a student of world-renowned cartoonist and caricaturist, Ranan Lurie, in New York. Back in Hawaii, Pritchett found a home at Honolulu Weekly where he has published a weekly cartoon for the past ten years. During this time John has been honored with awards from: The United Nations Correspondents Association, Hawaii Publishers Association, The Hawaii Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists, Common Cause Hawaii, and Small Business Hawaii.
