- In 2000, Ed and Barbara Farmilant, Tucson philanthropists and community activists, attended a “Performathon” at the Merit School, a community music school in Chicago. The energy, excitement and pure enjoyment exhibited by the young people in the “Performathon” delighted Ed and Barbara and left a strong impression, so much so that they wanted to bring this remarkable experience to the people of Tucson. After years of planning, their dreams became a reality when PRIME School of Music opened its doors in November 2002, allowing all in the Tucson Community to discover the benefits and joys of making music.
