prayertool

Description

We invite you to join us in an exciting endeavor that will invigorate your personal prayer time.

Through a simple set-up process and a few brief questions prayertool will support you in structuring a daily prayer list. The ‘prayer profile’ will provide you with a base prayer list to build from. As your vision for prayer broadens it is our hope that your relationship with Christ will grow even stronger and that, through this, Christ will be honored.

Enjoy the journal area of prayertool. Record observations each day and review them as you wish. Search your archive by keyword and view or print your selection.

We look forward to our journey together and to making this tool a part of your rich and rewarding time with our Lord ‘devoted to prayer’ (Romans 12:12b).

Additional Information

The tool itself is much easier to use than to explain. It initially began as a way to organize a list of names. It has evolved into much more than that.

I can’t begin to talk about prayertool without first thanking God for the changes He has brought about in my life. God created in me a strong desire for order. This is not always a good thing but it is one of the unique things about me. When He began to give me a passion for prayer He knew I would seek order.

In October 2008 as I was praying for our country prior to the November elections I read 2 Chronicles 7:14-15 … “and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land”. I realized an urgency to pray not only for our country but to pray more intercessory type prayers. (Thefreedictionary.com defines intercessory as “entreaty in favor of another, especially a prayer or petition to God in behalf of another.”)

In February of 2009 during a breakout session for a conference that I was attending, the subject of prayer was the topic. As the presenter discussed categorical areas that one might pray I realized that not once had I ever prayed for my children’s school or teachers, not once had I prayed for my employer, my community leaders, or the people that give their lives providing for my safety such as fire, police, hospital etc. As this list began to grow I realized that I needed something that could help me organize a manageable list that would meet my own personal schedule. Some of these prayer requests I wanted to pray every day. Some once per week, once per month or an event might occur annually and I might want to focus on that event at that time. I didn’t want a list that required a great deal of time to maintain. I didn’t necessarily want to pray for my once per week people each week on the same day. I almost wanted to be surprised each day by the list and those on it. I wanted to look forward to what the next day would bring.

Since one of my son-in –laws, Steve, is a computer geek and has spent his vocational life in the field of information technology I asked if he knew how we might make a spreadsheet that would accomplish my needs. As our conversations continued he mentioned that we could probably create this thru a web site. That is how prayertool began.

From that beginning the functionality of prayertool has taken on an almost active, living, breathing feel. Prayertool is completely adaptable to each person’s requests and can be changed at any time to meet the needs of the user. It is completely private and secure and can be accessed only by the user after providing login information.

While no one in our family is seeking credit for any portion of prayertool, it is hard not to see how God is using each of us in different ways. Each of us have gifts that the other may not and it is our prayer (James 3:16-17) not to get in the way of what God has planned for this tool. We wanted something that could involve our entire family and something that would enable us, as a family, to give back a little of what God has provided. For that reason we charge for this site. In charging for the use of prayertool we can keep the site clean and free from distracting advertisements that populate most web sites.

It is our hope that you enjoy prayertool and that you make it yours. We hope that it excites your daily walk and helps you grow in your prayer life. We will end with one of our favorite verses.

“I love the Lord, because He hears my voice and my supplications. Because He has inclined His ear to me, therefore I shall call upon Him as long as I live.” Psalm 116:1-2

May God Richly Bless You,
