McIntosh Minimoto was formed in 1993 to organise and run Hire & Drive days using Polini Minimoto. Anyone who wanted could hire a minibike and race around a circuit on it. This was great fun and soon became a great event for both private and corporate entertainment. Originally run at Kartstart in Kirkcaldy, this has blossomed to include events at Kartstart Aberdeen, Knockhill Race Circuit, Ingliston and Raceland.
In 1994 we set up the Scottish Minimoto Association and ran the Scottish Minimoto Championship with a single class category. This Championship grew so popular that we had to introduce different classes to keep the competition fair and exciting. Currently the Scottish Championship runs to eight rounds with Junior A, B C, Production, Lightweight, Middleweight, Heavyweight and the Open classes and we recently introduced a Hire class to introduce new riders into the sport of Minimoto.
In 1995 McIntosh Minimoto started competing in the MMRA Bristish Minimoto Championship and by 2003 we had won 26 British Class Championships.
