Many common cancers (including prostate, breast, colon, lung, brain, melanoma, pancreas, ovarian, kidney) can progress to become untreatable and eventually kill the patient. There are compounds that could abolish these tumors, but are much too toxic to administer systemically to cancer patients. PNP is predicated on the notion that solid tumors can be compelled to create their own chemotherapy, and thus elicit their own self-destruction. We have shown that this sort of chemotherapy is remarkably potent, abolishes otherwise refractory human cancers, and can be used safely because it is produced within the tumor mass.
