We are a design company that loves to create websites! One of the reasons PlasticMind Design is so set on providing personal, one-on-one service to our customers is because that's how this whole thing got started.
For years, Jesse Gardner had been doodling on napkins, recording radio programs on cassette tape and tinkering with computers (remember IBM PC Jr's?). The fascination with the pen soon became a fascination with the mouse (soon after the invention of the mouse), and programming in BASIC soon became programming in HTML.
After a few years of practicing magic with Photoshop, learning HTML the old-fashioned way (edit->view source) and doing his own blogging with Movable Type, the idea struck to combine these skills with the administrative skills of his wife Jessica. A service like this would give businesses and individuals the opportunity to express themselves visually with the power and flexibility to directly control the content on their site. Imagine that--a site that looks good and gives you control!
