Pinecastle Records was founded in 1990 in Orlando, Florida by Mr. Tom Riggs when he expanded his hobby of bluegrass into a full-time business. Riggs had professionally been involved in bluegrass music for over 30 years prior to starting Pinecastle Records. The year of 2002, marked acknowledgement of Mr. Riggs’ involvement within bluegrass music as he was awarded by the IBMA with the Distinguished Achievement Award for all of the hard work and dedication he’s put forth to ensure the success and future of the bluegrass genre.

Currently, our catalog consists of approximately 200 titles, ranging from the legends of traditional bluegrass to the young guns who have ensured bluegrass music will continue to grow and survive throughout the many years to come. Our diverse roster makes us one of the top record companies within the bluegrass genre.

We proudly produce music by the legendary Osborne Brothers, Jesse McReynolds and The Virginia Boys, Eddie Adcock & Martha Adcock, Smokey Greene, and Charlie Waller & The Country Gentlemen. We have the Journeymen in bluegrass such as The Larry Stephenson Band, The Village Singers, WhiteHouse, The Churchmen and Greg Cahill & Special Consensus. We also have Young Guns such as Wildfire, Sally Jones, Kristin Scott Benson, Josh Williams, The Chapmans, Michelle Nixon, Nothin’ Fancy, and Jim Hurst & Missy Raines, Ross Nickerson, and Wayne Benson.
