In the Philippines the coconut tree is referred to as “The tree of life” because nothing goes to waste. The trunk is used for wood and jewelry, leaves for roofing, husks for charcoal or tools, the meat of the coconut for oil or to eat, and ect. Its amazing to see all the resources made from one tree. The Philippines is also the highest production of coconuts in the world. One of my favorite things made from the coconut is the buko shake. lol Buko is the Tagalog word for coconut.
