Photics is the science of light, particularly in areas of water that are effected by the sun. Photics is also the online alias of Michael Garofalo - Webmaster of Photics.com. In the Fall of 2003, Photics.com became a Guild Wars fansite. Although, Photics.com has been around much longer than that.
Photics.com is an excellent resource for new Guild Wars players. However, with years of information on file, it can be tough to sort through the content. A great place to get started is with the Monthly Magazines. Every month, Photics.com produces a free electronic magazine. By reading these publications, you can keep your knowledge of Guild Wars up-to-date. The magazines also serve as a historial archive. You can read all the way back to the alpha days of Guild Wars. If you just purchased the Prophecies Campaign (Chapter 1), you might want to start with Issue #17. The May 1, 2005 issue of Photics is a beginner’s guide. It answers common questions for new players. For the really good information, you’ll want to read Issue #18, Issue #19 and Issue #20. Those three issues contain maps and detailed information for every Guild Wars: Prophecies Bonus Mission.
