Title

People & Planet - UK student action on world poverty, human rights and the environment

Description

University & College Groups

There are People & Planet groups at over 55 UK universities and colleges. They are run by students and are the core of the People & Planet network. They campaign and raise awareness about the global issues that matter to them by having speakers, debates, quizzes, colourful demonstrations, boycotts, club nights and more so get involved in your local group to learn about the issues, have fun and campaign for real change.

Sixth Form Groups

There are roughly 75 People & Planet groups in sixth forms and further education colleges. They are exploring global issues and running a Fairtrade campaign. This involves positive local action such as asking local shops and cafes to stock Fairtrade products, having exhibitions and tasting stalls, giving assemblies and persuading the staff room to go Fairtrade. For more information on our Fairtrade action campaign and how to set up your own group email: fairtrade@peopleandplanet.org

Campaign Supporters

You dont have to belong to a campus group to hear about our campaigns and take action. People & Planet also has a network of campaign supporters throughout the country who actively campaign with us to tackle the root causes of global poverty, injustice and environmental destruction. Our campaign supporters receive regular emails updating them on all the campaigns and termly newsletters giving information on how to get involved.
