Description
Although born in Washington, DC; I was raised in New Jersey and remained there until graduating high school. I was not interested in a higher education at the time; so in 1968 I had but two choices.....enlist or wait to be drafted. I chose to enlist, and made a twenty year career in the U.S. Army. Starting as a Private, Helicopter Repairman; I finished my career as a Major in the Ordnance Corps doing explosive ordnance disposal. While in the military, I earned a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas, Austin; and a M.S. degree in Engineering Management from the University of Missouri, Rolla.
After retiring from the military I became a consultant with Rust Environment and Infrastructure in Parsippany, NJ for the next seven years. As the Remediation Engineering Department Manager I was responsible to many Fortune 100 client companies for the assessment and clean-up of environmentally impaired industrial properties in New Jersey. I personnally managed three multi-milliion dollar clean-ups during this time with full charge responsibility for budget, schedule, and performance.
I moved to Venice, Florida in 1995 when my parents health deteriorated to the point that part-time, and soon full-time care giving was needed. Soon after my parents passed away, I entered the property managment field. First as the Network Operations Manager for a company based in Sarasota, Florida with responsibility for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of over 3,000 antenna tower sites in the U.S. and Canada. I then worked with a local property management company doing residential/investment property management in the Port Charlotte, Florida area. I obtained my Florida Real Estate Salesperson license in February 2003 and have been working exclusively in residential sales ever since.
