El Encuentro Lodge began guiding fishermen from all over the globe 19 years ago. The Lodge's proprietors Michael and Jane Beale have had extraordinary success with there guiding business. When one considers that the business grew largely through word of mouth it is all the more impressive. The reputation of the Lodge and the Beales has grown over time.

We are locatated on the banks of the Futaleufu River also known as the Rio Grande just 5 miles from the Argentine/Chile boarder. The town of Esquel which has an airport is about a 50 minute drive from the lodge. In addition to our home river¨we fish Los Alerces National park on the Rio Rivadavia, the famous spring creek Arroyo Verde and various other waters within a couple hours drive from the lodge.

The Lodge is, and always has been, a family affair. Michael, a seasoned guide himself taught all 5 of his children about , fly-fishing, wildlife, and the land they call home. Each of them has had an integral role in the success of El Encuentro.
