Description
Established in 1981, the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy is a cooperating association authorized by Congress to support and assist the National Park Service in research, interpretation and conservation programs.
The Conservancy's work is undertaken with generous contributions from individual, corporate and foundation donors, as well as income earned from operating park bookstores, merchandise and retail, publishing educational materials and providing interpretive tours. Since its inception in 1981, the Parks Conservancy has provided the National Park Service with nearly $80 million in aid and is recognized as one of the largest, most effective park partners in the country.
