Title

Pam Byrnes - Our State Representative

Description

A well-known attorney, Pam Byrnes was appointed to the Washtenaw County Road Commission in 2000, becoming the first female road commissioner in Washtenaw County. As an outgrowth of her long-standing involvement in the Washtenaw County Democratic Party, Pam founded the Western Washtenaw Democratic Club and served as its first Chair. She is also an active member of the Chelsea, Dexter and Saline Area Chambers of Commerce.

Her priority is to fight to make sure Washtenaw County gets its fair share from Lansing. Already, she has been instrumental in attracting funding for major improvement projects such as the Dexter Main Bridge, the intersection of Ann Arbor-Saline and Pleasant Lake roads, and the exit ramps where Baker Road meets I-94. She also announced that 11 Washtenaw County award winners will share more than $14 million in Michigan Technology Tri-Corridor funding to spur the growth of Michigan's life-sciences industry.

Pam lives on a small farm in Lyndon Township with her husband, Kent Brown. On their farm, they raise miniature donkeys and pygmy goats. Pam and Kent have two daughters: Katie, an engineer at Ford Motor Company; and Jodie, a teacher in Seattle, Washington.
