- Paganism is not as "mainstream" as some Pagans would like, and information related to Paganism is not always deemed relevant to encyclopedic resources such as Wikipedia, even though Pagans find that information very valuable. I created PaganWiki originally as a stop-gap for that information which the majority of Wikipedia editors viewed as unworthy of inclusion. It was quickly realized that if entire articles were being excluded for "non-notability" or irrelevance, then valuable pieces of articles that did "make the cut" were also going to be left out. The project has expanded its original scope to include essays, a directory of groups, covens and businesses as well as incorporating a library of related, non-copyrighted texts.
