Pima Association of Governments
Description
Established in 1973, PAG is an association of local, state and tribal governments. PAG coordinates transportation, environmental quality and population growth planning efforts. As the Metropolitan Planning Organization for Pima County, one of PAG's responsibilities is to coordinate the development of the Regional Transportation Plan which secures federal transportation funding for the region.
PAG is governed by a Regional Council comprised of elected officials from each member jurisdiction and a representative from the State Transportation Board.
Examples of PAG's activities and services include traffic data collection, mapping, population projections, carpool matching, public meetings and publications. An open committee process is at the heart of PAG's mission to promote regional cooperation and informed decision making.
