The Ossining Food Pantry distributes free food once a week to hungry people in Ossining, NY. It is operated by more than 100 volunteers who help guide the organization, stock the Pantry, pack the bags and distribute the food. We have no paid staff whatsoever.
The Ossining Food Pantry depend on the community for our funding. Several houses of worship, service and civic organizations, school groups and local businesses conduct food drives, provide money, attend our annual fundraising Celebration and contribute in-kind services. In a ddition we do receive some grants from corporations and foundations.
To qualify for the program, clients must meet the Pantry's financial guidelines and be referred by a social service agency, physician or local clergy.
