Ormonde Brick - the leading producer of fired-clay bricks in Ireland
Description
Our raw materials are extracted from our own quarries in North Kilkenny from which we obtain shale and fireclay. At our brickworks, the shale and fireclay are milled to a fine
consistency and then extruded and wirecut to shape. The bricks are then dried in chamber dryers and fired at about 1,000 degrees centigrade in tunnel kilns using natural gas. Our bricks are produced in accordance with I.S. 91, BS 3921 and EN771-1.
The expertise & commitment of our employees combined with our excellent raw materials and the modern technology of our brickworks results in finished products of the highest quality. All of our bricks are fully durable and are designated as FL (Frost resistant & Low soluble salt content) or F2 (in accordance with EN771-1) . Our Quality Management System is approved to BS EN ISO 9002 in addition to being approved by Excellence Ireland Quality Association. Our products have been granted the CICS Shield Mark for Product Conformity Certification. Our Environmental Management System is approved by CICS Ltd to ISO 14001.
