Office of Nationally Competitive Awards:

Description

The Office of Nationally Competitive Awards has been created to assist Ohio University's strongest and most talented students compete nationally for awards such as the Rhodes, the Truman, the Goldwater and the British Marshall (to name just a few).

All OU students on the Athens campus are eligible to take advantage of the services provided by our office. The office will support qualified students in all phases of their application processes for these nationally competitive awards, including the initial discussion of awards and brainstorming of ideas, the identification of faculty mentors, the actual application and interview processes, etc. No matter what the outcome of these applications, these are wonderful opportunities for students to develop and grow and to think about their lives and their future plans.

We encourage students to meet with one of our advisors to discuss their interests and eligibility for a nationally competitive award. In addition, we have an excellent compilation of community and university resources and volunteer opportunities for students to read through, as well as a number of general and specific scholarship books. If you are interested in applying to any of the prestigious scholarships listed on this site, or if you would like to help the ONCA in any way, please contact us. Our office is located at 35 Park Place. Contact person is Ann Brown (e-mail: browna@ohio.edu, phone: 593-2723).
