Title

OMEDA - Ohio Michigan Equipment Dealers Association

Description

Excerpted from the website:

The first meeting of the Buckeye Implement Dealers Association took place on February 14, 1893. At that meeting the Constitution and By-Laws were drafted. Only one other state or regional association in our business was organized earlier than the Ohio Association. Around the turn of the century the Ohio implement dealers joined with dealers of Indiana and Kentucky to form the Tri-State Implement & Vehicle Dealers Association. As implement dealers began to think about a separate organization, the Ohio Retail Implement Dealers Association was formed in 1916. This name was used through the years until it was changed in 1935 to the Ohio Farm Equipment Association. With increased interest in the industrial and lawn & garden segments of our industry, the name of Farm & Power Equipment Retailers Association was adopted in 1962. The next major change came about in 1996 when the Ohio Association merged with the Michigan Association to form the Ohio-Michigan Equipment Dealers Association.
