The Secretary of the State of Tennessee declared Lady’s Trace Enterprises (LTE) a Limited Liability Company as of 8:00 a.m., October 2, 2000. Lady’s Trace Enterprises is a small, veteran-owned* business that provides vital ordnance and explosives response planning expertise and consulting services to: communities, regulator agencies, stakeholder groups, local governments and the ordnance response community within the Department of Defense. LTE’s primary focus is to provide:
Ordnance contamination is a community problem. Engineering solutions miss 10% to 30% of the ordnance present. Residual risk remains on site. Simple ordnance removal fails to address the loss of the community’s sense of security, the root cause of concern. The consequences of an ordnance accident are truly horrific. Therefore, every strategy of response must be investigated in an attempt to minimize the risks. Ordnance should be removed, consistant with appropriate land use and other constraints. Individuals and agencies must be informed of the hazards and contingency plans must be developed in the event of accidental discovery of ordnance items. Risky behaviors by individuals and agencies must be minimized. Plans for development must be reasonable in view of the hazards present.
Lady’s Trace Enterprises takes its name from Lady’s Trace Farm which is located in the rolling hills of south central Tennessee. The farm, beef cattle and Spotted Saddle Horses have taken up a lot more of Rob Wilcox’s time since retiring from the Corps of Enginneers Ordnance and Explosives Center of Expertise in Huntsville, Alabama.
