Gartner names four emerging software technology trends that its analysts say will transform the software industry. Beyond Web 2.0, SOA or ‘cloud services' there are more disruptors. “Four overarching trends are reshaping how IT is used in the workplace. Each of these megatrends or disruptors must be evaluated to determine if it will have an effect on the business,” said Yvonne Genovese, vice president and analyst at Gartner, in a statement.
