Description
The USA Cross Country Championships and World Cross Country Team Trials, the More Marathon, the Healthy Kidney 10K, the Circle of Friends New York Mini 10K, the Fifth Avenue Mile, and the ING New York City Marathon are the cornerstones of NYRR Professional Racing, which continues NYRR's tradition of bringing the very best runners in the world to New York City.
The 2006 USA Cross Country Championships and World Cross Country Team Trials, which will be conducted in New York City's famed Van Cortlandt Park on February 18-19, 2006, features the top distance runners in the USA vying for a spot on the team that will represent the USA at the 2006 IAAF World Cross Country Championships in Japan. The weekend will also include the USA Masters 8K Cross Country Championships.
The third running of the first-ever marathon (26.2 miles) for women over age 40 takes place in early spring in Central Park. The event also includes a half-marathon (13.1 miles) for two-woman teams with at least one team member over 40. More than 3,500 women took part in the event last year, which is sponsored by More magazine, a lifestyle publication for women in their 40s and 50s.
