- The New York Knicks Fan Page (NYKFP) is the oldest remaining fan site of the New York Knicks on the web today. It debuted on December 18, 1996, which was coincidentally the 33rd birthday of Charles Oakley. Originally, the site was merely an experiment as it was my first attempt at building a web site, but it quickly gained a following as a result of providing regular updates and recaps of games, whereas other Knicks fan sites at the time were updated sporadically with news and photos. Thanks to the vast reaches of the web, I received design assistance from a web designer based in New Zealand named Simon G. who ran a fan site for the Electronic Arts racing game, The Need For Speed. With the assistance of his design efforts, NYKFP continued to gain traffic and even received some press coverage by the Gannett Suburban Newspapers (now known as the Journal News) of Westchester County, NY in 1997.
