Prior to August 2001 Nylatex was called Penn Nyla and was part of Courtaulds International Fabrics, playing a leading role in its globalisation and earning a reputation for technical innovation.
In August 2001 we became an independent business wholly owned by Harris & Watson. In December 2003, the company was the subject of a management buyout and subsequently changed its name to Nylatex.
This change of ownership has served as an opportunity to pursue a new business focus and purpose. We are now progressing well towards being a sleeker, faster, fitter organisation capable of reacting to the ever changing demands of the global textile marketplace – with exports now accounting for 85% of our turnover, half of which goes outside zone 1 to the Far East or the US.
