North Country Retrievers and North Country Kennels are the products of a friendship/business relationship established in 1985 between Greg Monroe and Rick Steenhoven. While residing in Alaska, a life long relationship was kindled between the two of them and their families. They are both natives of South Dakota, which is where their passion for retrievers, and upland and waterfowl hunting was fostered.
