REVIEW OF nextproteins.com
NEXT Nutrition focuses on selling nutritional products containing a specially formulated protein. According to the company’s homepage, the mission is “wowing the world with whey.” The company was founded in 1991 and has been investing money in research and clinical trials to ascertain the benefits of their protein formula, Designer Whey. The first formula was created by Olympic athlete David Jenkins who was interested in finding a substance to enhance his own performance. According to the website, he developed the formula in his garage and marketed it to “fitness buffs” before the concept of whey caught on four years later. Whether or not David Jenkins has a background in science is not mentioned. There are a variety of meal replacement and energy enhancing products on the market. Some of these product manufacturers are focused more on advertising and making a profit than in selling quality products, however, we will thoroughly examine the company and the products they offer.

REVIEW OF Next Nutrition
NEXT Protein manufactures products containing a whey protein supplement. They are available in either powder form or as candy bars and some formulas are designed for specific target groups. The protein powder for women, Aria, comes in chocolate and vanilla flavors, and combines soy protein with the whey. GlycerLean is a time-released muscle-building protein formula and comes in four flavors, and Designer Whey is available in five flavors. The bars are all flavored with peanuts, caramel and chocolate, the only variance being that Uturn omits the peanuts. The formulas for these bars are otherwise identical. Unfortunately, an exact list of ingredients is not available through any of the products’ websites. The only ingredient promoted is whey protein, and if the bars contain additional nutrients, it is not mentioned. Since the amount of protein contained in each bar would make it more of a meal replacement than a snack, the omission of nutritious additives causes the bars to be less fulfilling.
