- Today the most reputable and popular publication of any kind covering the comic book industry and one of the most successful genre entertainment websites on the Internet, Newsarama.com began humbly in the summer of 1995 when founder and creator Michael Doran began compiling comic book news he found around the “World Wide Web” for online friends at Prodigy’s comic book message board community.
- Over the next year-and-a-half those early efforts grew into an irregular series of columns billed as the “Prodigy Comic Book Newswire”, and it’s during this exploratory period that Doran first began making direct contact with comic book industry newsmakers. These columns eventually earned Doran a “comp” Prodigy account – the “professional” origin of what would someday become Newsarama.com
